I understand that leaving your best friend with a new person can be daunting, so we've put together a list of frequently asked questions to put your mind at ease.
How many dogs can you walk at once?
We limit our group walk to a maximum of 4 dogs so we can ensure each dog gets lots of attention and stimulation.
What types of dogs are suitable for group walks?
Dogs on group walks will need to be comfortable around other dogs and be well-socialised. Before joining a group walk, we will meet with your dog to assess suitability this ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all our dogs.
My dog is nervous around other dogs, will you be able to walk him?
Yes, we can provide a solo walk for your dog. If your dog is nervous, but not aggressive, we can start with solo walks and then gradually introduce them to calm and friendly dogs with a view to get them walking with our group dogs.
Are all your dog walks off lead?
No not at all, we tailor our walks to match the individual needs of our clients and their dogs. If you prefer, we can keep your dog on lead at all times, working on lead walking etiquette and roadside behaviour. When you book a walk, we can discuss whether you want on lead, off lead, or a bit of both. I will always use my own judgement on when a dog should have a long line/short lead on too.
Do I need to be at home when you pick up or drop off my dog?
No, most clients are happy for us to hold keys for them which allows us to collect and drop off your dog while you're at work or out and about. Keys are kept securely and will only be marked with your dog's name and your surname. Our business insurance provides cover in the unlikely event of loss or theft of keys, including the cost of replacing locks.
Do you walk dogs in season?
Unfortunately not, however, we would be happy to offer pet visits for her during this time.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, we are insured by Protectivity. This provides public liability cover, as well as cover in the unlikely event of loss, theft or injury of your pet, and loss or theft of your keys. A copy of the full policy cover can be provided on request.
What happens in the event of an emergency?
I am trained to administer pet first aid and I carry a pet first aid kit in my van. We will contact you immediately to discuss the situation. If we are unable to get hold of you and urgent veterinary attention is required, we will take your pet to your nominated veterinary practice or to the nearest vet depending on the circumstances.
